In Memoriam
GWRA Vice President Jane E. Bartsch passed away June 14 in Cortlandt Manor, N.Y. Jane was the vice president and general manager of WJBR-FM radio in Wilmington, but she also worked locally in the New York area for CBS-FM and KJOY in Long Island, as well as other radio stations throughout the country.
She is survived by her husband, Hans MacBain; brothers Paul and Donald Bartsch; and a sister, Dale Bartsch.
Our talented colleague and dear friend led by example. Jane “walked the walk” and “talked the talk.” She lived her life fully, enthusiastically, competitively, joyfully and purposefully. . .always saving lots of room for kind words and good deeds. Jane was the type of leader who was most happy when her employees succeeded.
Jane loved radio. Although she had worked successfully in New York, Long Island and several other radio stations throughout the country, 99.5 WJBR and Wilmington both held a very special place in Jane’s heart.
She is greatly missed, but, no sadness is allowed. We hear Jane’s voice clearly reciting her mantra, “Onward and Upward.”
